Rishi Sunak has announced a “restart grant” to help businesses reopen when lockdowns are eased. The grants could be worth up to £18,000 per firm as part of a measure to help give support and could be made available for nearly 700,000 non-essential retail shops including those in the hospitality sector as well as other eligible businesses. High street shops, restaurants, pubs and other non-essential shops were under restrictions and have remained closed for much of the past year. The package of support is expected to be unveiled in the budget on Wednesday 3 March.
